P3 welcomes Zhejiang Seaport as the first tenant in the new logistics center at JadeWeserPort

Frankfurt am Main | October 7, 2024 – P3, a leading developer and long-term owner of logistics properties in Europe, announces the leasing of the first distribution center of its new logistics center in the JadeWeserPort freight transport center (GVZ) in Wilhelmshaven. Starting from September 1, 2024, Zhejiang Seaport (Germany) Supply Chain Management GmbH, a leading company in maritime logistics, will occupy the over 31,700 square meter logistics space.

The overall project by P3 at JadeWeserPort includes the phased development of around 140,000 square meters of logistics space and represents a significant investment in Germany's only deep-water port. The first, now completed hall offers 31,700 square meters of modern usable space, including 2,000 square meters of mezzanine and 2,500 square meters of office space. It features 32 loading bridges, 11 ground-level gates – seven of which are oversized – and allows for the storage of particularly large goods through a special 7-meter wide and 4.5-meter-high gate.

Sönke Kewitz, Managing Director P3 Germany, says: “The settlement of Zhejiang Seaport is a strong signal for JadeWeserPort and the entire region. With this project, we are not only creating new jobs but also strengthening Germany's importance as a hub in international goods traffic. We are proud to support the company in expanding its European activities."

Qing Zhang, Managing Director Zhejiang Seaport (Germany) Supply Chain Management GmbH, says: “We are delighted to further expand our partnership with P3. Together we will develop innovative solutions and open up new business areas. Our aim is to make a significant contribution to the economic progress of both regions by providing even more efficient services. We are convinced that our cooperation will set new standards and create a real win-win situation. We would like to thank P3 for their continued support and trust. Together with JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven, we look forward to creating a more brilliant tomorrow.”

Zhejiang Seaport is using the property provided by P3 to expand its business in Europe as part of the Belt and Road Initiative. The company aims to increase the movement of goods between China and Europe and improve logistics efficiency through its presence in this strategic location. This establishment should help to further deepen economic relations between the two economic areas.

The establishment of Zhejiang Seaport underlines the growing relevance of the JadeWeserPort as a central freight traffic center in Europe. With the leasing of the first hall, P3 has reached an important milestone in the overall project. In the coming years, further hall space will be built at JadeWeserPort to meet the growing demand for modern and sustainable logistics solutions.
