P3 Prague Letňany hosts this year's European Boulder Cup

Prague, Czech Republic, 25th April 2022 – This weekend (April 30 – May 1), the European Boulder Cup 2022 will take place at P3 Prague Letňany. The warehouses of P3 Logistic Parks, a leading European investor-developer of logistics properties, are a perfect fit for live sports. Two years ago, the Jungle Sport park climbing centre and the JumpPark trampoline centre for sports enthusiasts and athletes were established at the park.

The upcoming International Federation of Sport Climbing race – which is part of the qualification for the European Climbing Championships in Munich – is returning to the Czech Republic after five years. Spectators can look forward to seeing the elite of competitive climbing in Europe at P3 Prague Letňany.

Jan Andrus, Head of Leasing P3 in the Czech Republic, comments: "We are proud that such a world-class race can take place in our P3 Prague Letňany park. We believe it will be a great experience for both athletes and spectators."

Jiří Žák, race director, explains: "Organizing a world-class race and giving Czech climbers a great live sports event to compete in has been our goal for a long time. In recent years, we have been following this idea with the MEM race in Slaný, and now bringing an adult European climbing competition to Prague is another big step.”

Jiří Oliva, Jungle Sport Park director, says: “Our centre combines climbing and other sports. Finding a space that meets all requirements, such as one with a large area and height, natural daylight and affordable parking, has not been easy. We have finally found it at P3 Prague Letňany park.”

Both women's and men's categories will compete. The biggest attraction will be the Czech representative and world number one, Adam Ondra, alongside other big names in the world of climbing. The qualifying rounds will take place on Saturday 30 April inside the Jungle sport park. The semi-final and final rounds will take place on the next day on the mobile racing stage in the outdoor area, where there is plenty of space not only for spectators, but also for a rich accompanying program, including the first race of the SLACKSHOW Trickline Cup, slackline workshops for children and adults and also exciting parkour performances.

Jan Andrus adds: “Alternative uses for industrial parks are becoming increasingly popular in our country and across Europe. At P3, we respond to market demand and tailor our premises to our clients’ needs. In the case of Letňany, we are meeting the demand for leisure activities that’s driven by the significant increase in residential development in recent years. This trend led us to the idea of a leisure use for the hall for the community."

In 2017, another Prague P3 park, Horní Počernice, hosted the elite of European slalom skateboarders at the ‘Smooth Prague’ event. Competitors reported that it was the smoothness of the premium concrete surface in the new halls that was the biggest attraction for skateboarders. This is just another proof that even two such diverse fields as industrial development and sports can complement each other.
